I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker and have been practicing psychotherapy with individuals, couples, families and groups for many years.
I was drawn to this profession from a very young age because of a strong desire I felt to be an active part of the community, to connect with people, and to help individuals and families live more balanced, meaningful lives. I continue to feel inspired by the work I do and the progress I see my clients make every day.
I earned my Bachelors of Arts Degree (BA) in Honors Psychology from Oberlin College and my Masters in Social Work (MSW) with a Mental Health Concentration from UCLA. I started my social work career in community mental health settings where I had the opportunity to work with adults, teenagers, children, and families from diverse backgrounds.
During my graduate education, I interned at OneGeneration Adult Day Healthcare in the San Fernando Valley, where I provided individual and group psychotherapy to older adults with cognitive and/or physical disabilities. I spent the next several years working as a psychotherapist and the Clinical Program Coordinator at Community Mental Health and Support Services, a program of NCJW/LA. In my provision of weekly individual, couple, and family long-term psychotherapy, I supported clients in addressing a wide variety of clinical needs, including: anxiety, depression, relationship and family problems, sexual assault, childhood trauma, sexuality, grief and loss, and parenting concerns. I also led many Women’s Empowerment support groups, where I helped clients develop skills to increase their self-esteem, build on their strengths, and develop interpersonal relationships.
As a licensed clinician, supervisor, and learner I am always working on enhancing my knowledge base through continuing education, peer consultation, certification courses and professional community involvement.
