Making the decision to reach out for support or guidance is not an easy one. You might be going through a difficult life transition, experiencing relationship problems, or you could be overwhelmed and feel unable manage your stress. I understand how challenging it can be to move forward, and make changes when you’re facing problems alone. Therapy can be a great opportunity to explore long-standing problems and to work through current life stressors in the safety of a nurturing, non-judgmental environment. Finding a therapist who feels like a good match is key. It is crucial to choose someone whom you believe has skill helping people with the issues you’re hoping to work on in counseling, and most importantly, someone you believe you can form a trusting relationship with. I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker who provides psychotherapy to individuals and couples. As a Relational Therapist, it is most important to me to create a warm, attentive environment, so a strong connection can form. I believe that it takes both therapist and client actively working together to create a positive, productive experience. Therefore, during our sessions you can expect me to ask questions, to help you explore important themes, and to provide you with insights and reflections. I ask my clients to be active as well; sharing their experiences, creating therapeutic goals, thinking about the things we explore outside of session, and working toward taking action when it’s appropriate. I will help you feel empowered, and will provide you with the support and tools you need to move forward, feeling more insightful, aware, and grounded.
